Janet F. Holzer

March 22, 1954 — January 25, 2024

Janet Florence Holzer, age 69 of Oshkosh, passed away on January 25, 2024, at home surrounded by her family, after a six month battle with pancreatic cancer. Janet was born on March 22, 1954, in Oshkosh, to Adelbert “Del” and Virginia (Kunde) Wing. She was a life-long Oshkosh resident and member of Peace Lutheran Church. She married Terrance Spatt on October 8, 1971, and they had three children: Tina, Tami, and Troy. She then married Christopher Holzer on May 2, 1987, and they had two children: Nicholas and Ashley.

Janet was previously employed with various companies over the years, but her favorite was being a home healthcare aid. She enjoyed the friendships she made with her patients. As her family expanded, she became a stay at home caregiver for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, which was her most rewarding “job.” She was so thankful for all the time she got to spend with them.

Janet was truly a family person and enjoyed spending as much time as possible with her family and friends. She loved her weekly lunches with the girls, card nights, road and bus trips, and going to the casino. She also enjoyed cooking and baking, especially around the holidays. Everyone loved her meals and treats, particularly her potato salad and nuts and bolts.

Left to mourn her passing is her husband, Christopher Holzer; former husband, Terrance Spatt; five children: Tina (Mike) Kintopf and their children Jake, Jonah, Clayton and Grant; Tami Hearns and her children Kaley, Hunter, Devonte, Delveon, and Lynelle; Troy (Sarah) Spatt and their children Isabella and Norah; Nicholas (Trevor Dolan) Holzer; Ashley (Vitor) Alves and their children Vincent, Harrison, and Sullivan; two great grandchildren: Eleanor and Alisia; mother-in-law, Alice Holzer; sister, Vicky (Leo Jr. “Butch”) Lemiesz; brother, Gary (Barbara) Wing; brothers and sisters-in-law: Ann Schuhart, Barbara (Craig) Diener-Blumer, Dorthy Kuenzi, Diane Holzer, Richard (Yvonne) Holzer Jr., and Jeanne Lambert; numerous nieces and nephews; special friends: Diane Frank, Nadine Wiley, Connie Stevenson, Diane Ranker, and Terri VanDyke; and various other family and friends.

Preceding Janet in death is her mother, Virginia; father, Adelbert; father-in-law, Richard Holzer; and sons-in-law, Kenneth Fuhrman and Kenneth Hearns; and brothers-in-law: John Holzer, Wally Diener, and Richard “Dick” Schuhart Jr.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at 1:00 P.M. at Peace Lutheran Church. A time of visiting and sharing of memories will be held prior to the service from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service.

Janet and the family wanted to thank her sister and brother-in-law, Vicky and Butch, and daughters, Tina, Tami, and Ashley, for all the care during this difficult time.
