On Monday, June 19th, 2023, Janet Ruth Dunham entered the arms of her Lord and Savior following a massive stroke the previous Thursday.
Janet was born on September 18, 1945 to the late Milton & Esther (Zuehlke) Schumacher. On October 7, 1967, she married her high school sweetheart, Thomas Dunham. They were married 55 years and were blessed with two children, Jennifer Dunham (Shaun “Congo” Kramer), Oshkosh and Jeffrey Dunham (Katie Hintz and children), Hortonville; granddaughter, Maddison Dunham-Houle, Oshkosh; brother, Roland (Nancy) Schumacher, Fond du Lac; sister-in-law, Marilyn Anderson, Oshkosh; niece and God-daughter, Reneé (John) Mijal, Weston, niece, Karie Dahl, Oshkosh; nephews, Richard Anderson, Oshkosh, Kim Dunham (Carol Killian), Appleton, Kevin (Michelle) Dunham, Michigan; grand-niece, Alyssa (Dean) Johnson, Mount Horeb; grand-nephews Travis Gajewski (Tre Martin), Florida, and Lucas Gajewski, Weston; nieces, Annette (Cory) Clark, Fond du Lac, Jean (Todd) Polk, Reedsburg, and Susan Reische, Germany; grand-nieces Danica (Max) Sebranek and Rhett, Hillsboro, and Kaylee Polk, Chicago; along with cousins and other relatives.
Preceding her in death were parents, Milton and Esther Schumacher; father and mother-in-law, Rex and Bernice Dunham; brother-in-law, Lee Dunham; nephew, Ty Schumacher; and one infant son.
Janet was a nurse at Mercy Medical Center for 40 years. She took over Trinity Tours Motor Coach business from her parents, and was the director and tour escort with her husband, Tom for more than 20 years. She was an active and faithful member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Oshkosh. She loved serving the Lord in the adult choir, chime choir, and assisting in other services for the church. Together, Janet and Tom enjoyed life-long friendships with their couple’s bible class group. Janet will be lovingly and fondly remembered in the hearts and minds of all the lives she touched.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon Thursday, June 29th, 2023, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 2450 W 9th Ave, Oshkosh, WI 54904. Pastor Greg Koepsell will officiate. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church. At the family’s request, please bring a dish to pass to honor Janet’s love for food and fellowship at a potluck immediately following the service. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Oshkosh.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Janet’s name. The family shares their gratitude for the City of Oshkosh Paramedics and EMTs, as well as the ER, ICU, and 5th floor Nurses and Staff of ThedaCare Regional Medical Center – Neenah for their exceptional care of Janet and her family.
