Janice Knaak

Janice L. Knaak, age 81, of Oshkosh, passed away Wednesday, August 14, 2013, at Evergreen Retirement Community. Janice was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Zena (Wendt) Gates; her oldest brother, Richard (Elaine) Gates; her youngest brother, Phillip Gates and infant sister, Glenda. Janice will be missed by her husband, Robert Knaak; daughter, Marla (William) Hall of New Richmond, WI; daughter, Rosemary Kosin of New Richmond, WI and three great grandchildren, Stella, Emery, and Niko.Janice graduated from Oshkosh High School in 1949, and went on to college at St. Vincents in Chicago for pediatric nursing where she worked at Passavant Hospital along with private practices as well. She later worked in medical records at Mercy Medical Hospital in Oshkosh. Janice was also employed at Hugo, Reese & Sons as a book keeper and at Gertrudes Town Shop. Janices last 19 years of employment were spent at Bee Frank in Park Plaza until the businesses closed in 1992.Janice was a long time member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she sang in the choir and assisted in the nursery. A special thank you Heartland Hospice Care and the caring nurses that made a big difference in the last few months of her life.Funeral services will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church located at 370 Bowen St. on Saturday, August 17, 2013, at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Kelly Leary officiating. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until services. Inurnment will be at Lake View Memorial Park at a later date.
