Jay Lee Callies, 53, of Pickett, passed away peacefully at home on August 18, 2014. He was born in Oshkosh on April 11, 1961, the son of Lee and Lois (Helm) Callies. On June 23, 1996, he married Mary Miller in Oshkosh. He attended Lourdes Academy and Oshkosh West high school, class of 79. He owned and operated a photography and limousine business. Together, he and his wife ran Kay Dee Mae Acres. He worked as a truck driver, most recently for Standard Forwarding until the time of his illness. He enjoyed riding his John Deere, but nothing gave him more enjoyment than raising llamas, poultry and his beloved dogs. He is survived by his wife, Mary; father, Lee (Karen) Callies; mother, Lois (Norman) Abitz; father-in-law, David Miller and sister-in-law Nancy (Paul) Sobralski. Survivors also include; aunts, uncles, cousins and his friends.Jay was preceded in death by his grandparents, and an aunt.The family would like to thank Dr. Darr, the staff of Aurora VNA and Hospice for their kind care along with a special thank you to the Teamsters Local 200.A private graveside service was held at Lake View Memorial Park in Oshkosh.A memorial fund in Jays name is being established.
