Jean Margaret Boehme, 90, passed away on September 7, 2017 at her home. She was born on March 21, 1927 in Chicago, IL and is the daughter of the late Jacob and Margaret (Toepp) Irmiter. Jean graduated from St. Scholastica High School in Chicago and attended Mundelein College also in Chicago. On June 11, 1949, Jean married John French Boehme in Chicago, and then moved with her husband to Oshkosh. For Jean, raising children was a vocation. As a loving mother and homemaker, Jean sewed clothes and costumes for family and her children’s school productions. She loved children and served at St. Mary’s School in many capacities from Cub Scout Den Mother to office manager and wherever else she was needed. Jean was also an active volunteer in the community through the League of Women Voters, Infant Welfare Program, and National Charities such as Heart Fund and March of Dimes. Jean was a member of the Oshkosh Country Club. She also attended St. Jude the Apostle.
Survivors include one daughter, Patricia Anne Boehme, Washington D.C. four sons: Christopher Peter Boehme, Oshkosh, John French Boehme, Jr, Oshkosh, Andrew Luke Boehme, Florida, William Jacob (Sharon) Boehme, Oshkosh; six grandchildren: Elena Boehme, Jordan (Elisa) Jacobsen, Erin (Doug) Boehme, John Boehme III, William Boehme Jr, and Madison Boehme; and two brothers: Peter (Sheila) Irmiter, and Donn Irmiter.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John; one son, Paul; two brothers: Jim and Richard Irmiter; and one sister, Joan Hubbard.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00PM on Friday, September 15, 2017 at Most Blessed Sacrament Parish, St. Mary site 605 Merrit Ave., with Father Jerome Pastors as celebrant. Visitation for family and friends will be at the church on Friday from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm. Interment will follow at Lake View Memorial Park.
Memorials may be sent to the Boys and Girls Club of Oshkosh.
