Jerry F. Marshek, 83, of Oshkosh died Wednesday, April 5, 2017, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Appleton. He was born September 29, 1933, in Clintonville a son of Darwin and Margaret (Magolski) Marshek. He married Bonnie E. Mahr on October 6, 1979, in Oshkosh.
Jerry attended St. Peter School before graduating from Oshkosh High School. He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church and a veteran of the U.S. Navy and Naval Reserves. He was a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for over 30 years retiring in 1991.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Bonnie of Oshkosh; two sons, Jeffrey J. Marshek of Oshkosh and Scott J. Marshek of Raytown, MO; a step-daughter, LaurelAnne Milligan of Oshkosh; a step-son, Ricki Lee Much of Appleton; three grandchildren, Trevor Marshek of Raytown,Mo, Crystal (Robin) Cardell of Oshkosh, and Valerie (Ryan) Scofield of Milwaukee; three great-grandchildren, Star cardell, Samantha Scofield, and Ryan Scofield Jr.; a sister Joanne (Richard) Ellis of Sacramento, CA; an aunt, Helen (Jim) Ehrenberg of Oshkosh; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A funeral service for Jerry is being planned for Tuesday, April 11, 2017, at 12:30 p.m. at Peace Lutheran Church, Rev. Dennis Ellisen officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday at the church from 11:00 a.m. until the service. Entombment will be in Lake View Memorial Park with military rites. Memorials are being planned for St. Jude’s Children Hospital and Shriner’s Hospital.
Jerry’s family wishes to thank all those who have helped Jerry and them through his illness, all the caregivers, nurses, doctors, etc., they are all very grateful.
