Joanne Martello

Joanne Martello, age 65, passed away on Monday, February 24, 2025 at Select Specialty Hospital in Madison. She was born to the late Rocco Rosario and Ida Maria Martello on November 21, 1959.

She studied music at Lawrence University. She had an incredibly beautiful singing voice.

She was always very proud of her Sicilian heritage. She was a chef-quality cook, no doubt an inheritance from her grandmas & aunts! She had an incredible gift for flowers & plants. Growing things flourished under her care. Her outside spaces and her home were colorful bowers of glory. She loved all animals with all her heart. But she especially loved dogs. Her beloved chihahhau Meka lived to the ripe old age of 14. Meka passed not so long before Joanne. No doubt Meka was waiting at the Rainbow Bridge; where Joanne paused to pick her up on her way into Heaven.

Joanne is survived by her great love & partner of 10 years, Rich Mantz, dear friend Debbie Sturn, mother-in-law Donna Knorr, a brother Dominick Martello and family.

In addition to her parents, Joanne was preceded in death by her grandparents, as well as many aunts, uncles, and a former husband Jay Knorr. Joanne was sincerely loved & respected by her many co-workers at every place she worked. Dear Joanne, we will love you and miss you as long as we live!

Per Joanne's wishes a cremation has taken place.
