Joel H. Lesselyoung, born on August 30, 1943, in Fond du Lac, WI to the late Reno and Dorothy (Guell) Lesselyoung, passed away peacefully on December 7th, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones. He loved Jesus and often expressed his gratitude for God's goodness to him- providing for him and working all things out in his life for good.
Joel served in the U.S. Army. After the military, his sense of adventure continued. Behind the wheel, he would explore for hours looking at scenery, finding unique houses or walking along Lake Michigan. He also had a curious mind. Joel was filled with ideas, he would work from early in the morning till late at night to execute his many plans to make a new recipe, find a better way to garden, eat healthy, build, or fix something. An avid gardener, he sprouted seeds inside under lamps months before planting his garden. Often, he had an abundance of vegetables which he freely shared with friends and family. Perseverance and gratefulness were the hallmarks of Joel's life and the legacy that he has left to us.
He was a cherished friend to many. His wit, compassion, and willingness to listen and help others will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Joel is survived by his daughter, Tami White and grandchildren, Jayce, Mariah, and Hudson White. As well as Phyllis's children, Nadine (Paul) Weinkauf, Melanie Reimer, Timothy Mueller, Paul Mueller, and Jenny (Gary) Angell; grandchildren, Shannon, Molly, Alissa, Nathan, Jessica, Casey, Noah, Anthony, Sara, Brianna, Landon, Taylor, Jordan, Andie; and many great grandchildren.
Joel is preceded in death by Phyllis Mueller - Lesselyoung, Phyllis's daughter, Cindy Detlaff; and granddaughter Desiree Gustavus.
