John A. Schuster

John A. Schuster, 88, of Oshkosh, passed away at Bethel Home on January 12, 2011. He was born in the town of Algoma, Wisconsin on June 21, 1922 a son of Frank and Elsie (Ott) Schuster. On August 8, 1953 he married El Dona Piel at First English Lutheran Church in Oshkosh.John worked for 40 years at Schusters Turkey Farm which was owned and operated by his family. Later he worked at Oshkosh Truck Corporation until his retirement in 1984. He was a member of First English Lutheran Church. John enjoyed reading especially westerns and history books. He was an avid pheasant and deer hunter. He enjoyed talking and reading about guns along with attending gun collector shows. He looked forward to spending time with his family, children and grandchildren.He is survived by his wife El Dona, one son, Stan(Connie) Schuster of Oshkosh, one daughter Ann Lorenzen of Willoughby Hills, OH; five grandchildren Daniel and Matthew Schuster, Elizabeth, Hannah and Jacob Lorenzen, one brother-in-law Neil Starke of Wautoma, many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Robert, his sisters Florence and her husband Clarence Hill, Marion and her husband Eugene Pignon, Gladys Starke, Jane Achtman, nieces Susan Binner and Lynn Zillner.Funeral services will be held on Saturday January 15, 2011 at 5 p.m. at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-Westside with Rev. Timothy Greenwald officiating. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 3 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Brooks Cemetery.A memorial has been established.The family extends a gracious thank you to Bethel Home, Clarity Care, Lakeland Care District, Affinity Visiting Nurses and Hospice for all their excellent care given to John and his family.
