John A. Stelzner

John A. Stelzner, 87 of Oshkosh, died Saturday March 24, 2007 at his home. He was born in Oshkosh on December 4, 1919 in Oshkosh the son of John and Mathilda Schiefelbein Stelzner. He married Gladys Mae Winkelman on June 28, 1952 at the Zion Lutheran Church in the Town of Caledonia.John was a member of the Bethlehem Ev. Lutheran Church. He had been employed by Rockwell International. He had served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, his church, and he built the home in which he and his wife have lived for many years. He was also a member Local 291 U.A.W.He is survived by his wife, Gladys Stelzner of Oshkosh, a son, Ronald (Elaine) Stelzner of Oshkosh, a sister, Margaret (Pete) Shadura of Mesa, AZ, two grandsons, Jon Todd Stelzner of Oshkosh, and Scott Randall Stelzner of West Bend, WI and a great granddaughter, Jessica Stelzner of West Bend, WI. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, great nieces, great-nephews, and special friends Joe and Tracy Wichman of Oshkosh. He was preceded in death by four brothers, and three sisters.His funeral will be on Wednesday March 28, 2007 at Noon at the Bethlehem Ev. Lutheran Church with the Rev. Paul Lidtke officiating. Family and friends may call at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the service time. Burial will be in Lake View Memorial Park. Memorials may be given to the Bethlehem Ev. Lutheran Church or to the Affinity VNA Hospice.The family would like to thank Astra and Mary of the Affinity VNA, and Barb and Patsy at Winnebago County Human Services.
