John Bartelt Jr., age 91 of Oshkosh, passed away on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at Aurora Medical Center, with family at his side. He was born to the late John and Flora (Mischke) Bartelt on July 6, 1929 in Kiel, WI. He married JoAnn Kolb on July 15, 1950 in Cleveland, WI. John was a veteran of the United States Army and served his country as a tank operator in Germany in the mid 1950’s. He worked as a Superintendent at Simmons Juvenile Products in New London and previous to that as a supervisor at Buckstaff Furniture Co. in Oshkosh. He was an avid dog lover, enjoyed sport trap shooting, and woodworking, especially segmented wood bowl and vase turning.
John is survived by his three sons; Jack of Oshkosh, Jeffrey (Dona) of Winneconne, Joel (Lori Harris) of Eureka, and a sister Betty Stevenson of Oshkosh.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his wife JoAnn, sister Eva Stelzner, and brother Melvin Bartelt.
Due the Covid-19, a private funeral service will be held on Tuesday February 23, 2021. You may view a live stream via Zoom of the funeral at 12:00 pm at https://us02web.zoom.us/j/85619198253. Burial will be at Lake View Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
