John E Frierdich, John Boy Jr., 66, of Racine, passed away on Saturday, February 2, 2008 at his home with his wife Joyce by his side. John was born in Mt. Clemens, MI on July 8, 1941 the son of the late John Sr. and Meta Emma Torbeck Frierdich. On April 20, 1963 John married Joyce Darlene Johnson in Ironwood, MI. John worked his entire life for the railroad, loved taking his day trips to see his grandchildren and loved taking Joyce to the casino. He also had a love for the outdoors. For all that knew him, he had a did that done that outlook on life since retirement eight years ago. From the stories he shared about the hunts he was on or the fish he had caught or the one that got away John will be remembered for his laid back outlook on life. He never complained and only wanted to make sure he provided for his wife and family. In his quiet, yet always, listening and learning ways he was a proud man that thought the world of good friends, great times and his family. He will be dearly missed by his wife of 44 years, Joyce; his two sons, Scott (Stacy), Mark (Kim); his sisters, Ann (Larry) Powell, Patty Frierdich, Cheryl (Terry) Fietzer, his grandchildren, Cullen, Cooper, Kaitlyn Bailey, Taylor; and numerous other relatives and friends. John was preceded in death by his parents, John and Meta along with an infant brother, Harold Wayne.Funeral services for John will be held on Thursday February 7, 2008 at the Konrad-Behlman Funeral Homes – Westside at 6:00 p.m. with Father Carl Schmitt officiating. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until the hour of service. A memorial has been established. Interment will be at Brooks Cemetery. Johns family would like to thank all the great friends, co-workers and professional staff (Wheaton Franciscan Home Health and Hospice and St Francis Hospital), that have shown support this last month. Special thanks go out to the great people at Deli Food Express in Racine (Joyces Co-Workers as well as the everyday customers) that had stopped by to visit, made a call, gave a hug or just sent words of encouragement, You truly have gone above and beyond and will be forever in our hearts!.
