John Elton Schultz

May 24, 1927 — February 2, 2013

John Jack Schultz, age 85, of Wautoma, passed away Saturday February 2, 2013 at Appleton Medical Center due to complications from surgery and pneumonia. Jack was born May 24, 1927 in Milwaukee to Elton and Gertrude Schultz. While serving in the military he met and married his wife Beverly. Prior to moving to Wautoma they built a home in Pewaukee where Jack and Bev then started their family. With Jacks business (Equipment Installers & later becoming JESCO) requiring a lot of travel in all of Wisconsin and upper Michigan, getting out of the big city was the next move for them - Wautoma was now their home and would be for the next 43 years. In 1985 Jacks son Scott took over the business. At this time Jack and Bev retired allowing them to begin enjoying their winters spent in Florida. Working with wood became a favorite pastime along with sharing his opinion on politics. You always knew where Jack stood on things whether you wanted to or not. He had firm beliefs but also had a big heart. Along the way a lot of very wonderful people have entered into Jack and Bevs lives all of whom have a very special place in the hearts of the whole Schultz family. Jack will always be remembered by those he left behind: his wife Beverly, daughter Cheryl Ferrara, son Scott (Bev) Schultz, grandchildren Christina (special friend, Chad) Schultz, Mathew (special friend, Kim) Schultz, Angie (Jeff) Coulthard and their children Jeffrey, Jessie and Jayda, Jacks sister Jean (Gil) Malmstrom and her children Greg (Debbie) Malmstrom, Kathy (Rick) Anderson and their families, cousin Don (Jane) Schultz along with many friends from Wisconsin as well as Illinois and Florida. He is preceded in death by his parents, nephew Jack Malmstrom and son-in-law, Fred Ferrara and several friends A memorial will be held on Saturday February 16, 2013 from 1-4 p.m. at the WWII Veterans Hall in Wautoma (440 W. Main St.). Military Honors will be performed at 2:30 p.m. The celebration of Jacks life will also include food, refreshments and the sharing of many memories. Early in Jacks life he was in both the Merchant Marines and Marine Corps which gave him the opportunity to join fellow WWII veterans on July 27th on the Old Glory Honor Flight to see the memorials built in their honor- a very special trip for them all.In lieu of flowers the Schultz family would appreciate donations to go to the Old Glory Honor Flight and WWII Veterans Association. Please send donations to the Jack Schultz Memorial Fund c/o Farmers Exchange Bank P.O. Box 197 Neshkoro, WI 54960 - donations will also accepted at the Redgranite and Wautoma locations of the Farmers Exchange Bank.
