John J. Mark, 81, of Oshkosh, passed away Wednesday June 13, 2007 at Theda Clark Medical Center. He was born August 17, 1925 in Milwaukee a son of Peter and Teresa Flannick Mark. He married Catherine Schwind on September 10, 1949 in Milwaukee. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, where he was a pilot during WWII and the Korean War. He also served in the Wisconsin Air Guard. He was one of the original members of EAA. His passion was flying. He also enjoyed photography, hunting, fishing and being a bush pilot in Canada. He is survived by his wife Catherine, five children John Mark, Susan(Gerry) Frechette, Tom Mark, Jan Mark, and Bill Mark, his loving brothers George Mark, Joe(Joan) Mark, and loving sisters Ann(Gene) Stefanick Nancy(Bill) Sidesky, 10 grandchildren, Ryan Egan, Nichole McCormick Leah Perantoni, Luke Perantoni, Tim Mark, Alisa Skatbo, Katelyn Mark, Stuart Mark, Lauree Frechette, Emily Mark and 4 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. A Memorial service for John will be held on Tuesday June 19, 2007 at 11 a.m. at St. Raphael the Archangel Catholic Church with Rev. Dan Felton officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery.A memorial has been established to the American Cancer Society.
