John R. Zink

John Richard Zink, age 75 of Oshkosh, passed away at his residence on Friday, June 15, 2018. He was born on November 18, 1942 to the late William and Elaine (Gustafson) Zink. On January 23, 1971, John married Kathryn Arneson who preceded him in death in 2011.

John was a member of St. Andrews Lutheran Church. He worked as a welder and inspector at Leach Company. John enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking, and a good cup of coffee. He also enjoyed watching the Packers, and the Brewers. He had a good sense of humor and loved to tell stories. He shared lots of laughs with family and friends.

John is survived by his sons: Gregg (fiancée: Nancy) Schwab, John (Beth) Zink, James (TJ) Zink, and Jay (Vivian) Zink; his daughters: Judy (Glenn) Hillegas, Debra (Mark) Ziesemer, Christine (Bruce) Barwick, and Mary Venable; grandchildren: Christopher, Jonathan, Amber, William, Leann, Gabe, Matthew, Jenna, Shantay, Christian, Sky, Star, River, Ashley, and Jordan; 10 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law and sister-in-law: David and Mona Arneson; brother-in-law: Jerry Bisek; sister-in-law: Beverly Zink; special friends: Jim and Kim Blanchard and family, Jim and Karen Hruska.

He was preceded in death by his wife, and brother: David Zink.

A memorial service for John will be held at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home- Westside, 100 Lake Pointe Dr. Friday, August 3rd, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Karen Jewell officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Inurnment will be at Burdick Cemetery.
