John W. Nelson

John W. Nelson, age 72, of Oshkosh, passed away on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at his home. He was born on August 12, 1948 to James and Marie (Payne) Nelson. On December 3, 1968, he married Donna M. Berger.
After school, John served in the Army in the Vietnam War. He worked at Arrowhead Conveyor and after 25 years, he retired. John enjoyed working and helping people. He also enjoyed repairing cars and attending car shows. John loved riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle.
John is survived by his wife, Donna; one son, John (Jeanette Braasch) Nelson; one daughter, Dawn (Doug) Courter; four grandchildren, Lauren and Ryan Courter and Savannah and Brianna Nelson; one brother, Randy Nelson; one sister, Debbi (Bill) Niebuhr; one step-sister, Constance Kowalske.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his stepmother, Martha Nelson; four brothers, James Jr., William, Michael, and Charles Nelson; three sisters, Ruth James, Cathy Rucks, and Christi Nelson; one step-brother, Daniel Kowalske.
A public visitation will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2021 from 9 – 11 am at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home – Westside, 100 Lake Pointe Drive. A service will follow the visitation at 11 am. Inurnment will take place in spring at Riverside Cemetery.
