Josephine E. Behrend

Josephine E. Behrend, 83 of Oshkosh, passed away Saturday December 25, 2010 at Mercy Medical Center. She was born in Oshkosh on June 8, 1927 daughter of Madeline (nee Langlitz) and Joseph Yanko. On December 22, 1945 she married William Behrend in Oshkosh.Josephine had been employed for many years in the office of Swift and Co. and later was a payroll clerk at Radford Co. until retiring in 1989. She was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church.Jo had been an avid bowler and attended many tournaments. In her later years she enjoyed reading and doing crossword puzzles.She is survived by her husband William Behrend of Oshkosh; children, Stevern (Cindy) Behrend of Appleton, Susan Schmidt of Oshkosh, Patti (Gary) Schneider of Forest Junction, WI, and David Behrend of Oshkosh; three sisters, Audrey Yanko, Delores March and Nancy Pratsch; 14 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and cousins. Her funeral will be on Wednesday December 29, 2010 at Noon at the Zion Lutheran Church with Rev. Jeffrey Knoll officiating. Burial will be in Lake View Memorial Park. Family and friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 10 AM until the time of the service. A memorial has been established.
