Josephine Nora Henriksen

August 24, 1941 — November 26, 2023

Josephine Nora Henriksen, 82, of Oshkosh, died at her home on Sunday, November 26, with her sister and two nieces by her side. Josephine was born the daughter of Nora (Hamann) and Joseph Golomb, the fourth of six children, on August 24, 1941.

She graduated from the Butternut High School, left home and moved to Milwaukee, where she lived and worked for several years before moving to Oshkosh. There she met, and married Irvin Henriksen on May 20, 1967. They had one daughter, Amy, in 1969, who they sadly lost to cancer in 1993.

Over the years Josephine enjoyed working at many different occupations, from office work to factory work to deli manager at a grocery store to house painter. After the loss of her daughter, she started her own business of house-cleaning, until she retired in 2006, due to health problems.

Josephine maintained a strong Christian faith throughout her life which carried her through many hardships and was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.

She enjoyed gardening and had a large vegetable garden for many years, carrying on the traditional canning and preserving food. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, sewing, and many other kinds of crafts. She was always a very outgoing person that loved being with people. And she loved to dance, especially polkas.

Josephine was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers - James and John, one sister - Patricia Anderson, two sisters-in-law - Judith and Patsy, and a great-nephew - Aaron Campbell.

She is survived by two sisters - Margaret Golomb and Carol Myers, Adam (Terri) Cole, three stepdaughters, five other step-grandchildren, four step-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
