Joyce A. Sasse-Ludwig, of Oshkosh, died on Friday April 29,2022 at Edenbrook. She was born in Fremont a daughter of Emil and Sadie Miller Niemuth. She married Donald Ludwig and he preceded her in death on May 14, 1999.
Joyce attended Fremont Public Schools and graduated from Weyauwega High School. She worked for many years as a receptionist in the dental offices of both Dr. Dowling and Dr. Willert. She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Joyce was a very active member of the Oshkosh community.Her life involved many hours of volunteering her time and community service. She volunteered at Mercy Medical Center in several capacities including tours, reception, one day surgery, Mercy Reach for Recovery, and Mercy Auxiliary. Her giving of her time continued at Aurora Medical Center in giving of tours, Aurora Shoo the Flu and other special programs. Within the City of Oshkosh she assisted with the voting polls, the Oshkosh Chamber of Commerce, Ambassador at the Grand Opera House, EAA, Dragon Boats Races, Oshkosh Symphony Usher, St. Vincent De Paul, and Platinum Plus Ambassador. As a result of being a breast cancer survivor she became involved in the Fox Cities Breast Cancer Walk and the American Cancer Program. She was also and Avon Representative and assisted with the Relay for Life and the Womans Division.
She is survived by two sons Douglas(Kathy) Sasse and David(Tiffany) Sasse, three grandchildren, Kurt, Matthew, Ella, her brothers Gordon Niemuth, Charles(Marita) Niemuth, Robert(Janis) Niemuth, Glen(Sandy) Niemuth, one sister Eunice Kempf, numerous nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by three brothers Kenneth, Emil Jr., and Lawrence.
Funeral services for Joyce will be held on Friday May 6, 2022 at 1 p.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church with Rev. Greg Koepsell officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday at the church from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Entombment will follow at Lake View Memorial Park.
Memorials to the American Cancer Society, Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, or Oshkosh Humane Society would be appreciated.
The family would like to thank the staff at St. Vincent Medical Center in Green Bay and the staff of Edenbrook in Oshkosh.
