Joyce M Christian

Joyce M. Christian, 84, of Oshkosh, passed away on Monday, December 26, 2016. Joyce was born on October 27, 1932 to the late Albert and Mabel (Luebke) Widmer in the Town of Black Wolf.Joyce was a gifted church organist when she was young and had played music for her grandfathers funeral. She had a gift for re-telling her grandfathers stories and of her life on the farm. She loved interior decorating, gardening and waterfalls. She and her companion, Mike, loved traveling to any place where there were mountains, animals and the beauty of nature.Joyce is survived by her daughters: Barbara Farry, Kathy Schroeder of Oconto; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Stan (Paula) Widmer, of Minnesota; sister-in-law, Jean Widmer and special friend, Mike Kozak of Oshkosh. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her brother Kenneth Widmer. A funeral service will be held for Joyce at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church (2450 W 9th Ave Oshkosh) on Friday, December 30, 2016 at 11:30 a.m. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the service time. Burial will be in Lake View Memorial Park. A memorial in Joyces name has been established.Joyces family would like to extend a sincere Thank You to the staff at the Waterford and Heartland Hospice for their care of Joyce.
