Joyce Oestreich

Joyce E. Oestreich, age 89, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, September 4, 2014 at Mercy Medical Center, with her family by her side. She was born on September 18, 1924, in Oshkosh, the daughter of the late Irving and Bertha (Allen) Stille. She was united in marriage to Reinhold Oestreich on May 1, 1946 in Oshkosh. Their marriage was blessed with three children. Joyce was a long time member at Trinity Lutheran Church where she served as church secretary for 24 years and was very active in the Ladies Aid. She volunteered her time at Pleasant Acres and was a member of the ladies auxiliary there. She also volunteered at the Bethesda Thrift Store for many years. Joyce loved to knit; she would often knit hats and mittens for different organizations including orphan children. One of the joys in her life was the companionship and memories of the many dogs she and Reine raised. She was very active and enjoyed spending time with friends and always up for a good game of cards. The time she treasured the most, was spending time with her grandchildren.Joyce is survived by her two daughters, Sandra (Gary) Fredrickson of Huntington, IN; and Sharon (David) Leinweber of Oshkosh; four grandsons: Ross (Samantha) Fredrickson, Tom (special friend, Danielle Falk) Fredrickson, Tyler (Kristy) Leinweber and Adam (Amber) Leinweber, many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Reinhold in 2003, one son, Steven C. Oestreich, parents-in-law, Robert and Mathilda (Lehman) Oestreich, two sisters, Lois Rothenbach and Helen Murin, three nephews, and many brothers and sisters-in-law.Memorial service will be held at 6:00pm on Friday, September 12, 2014 at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home, 100 Lake Pointe Drive, with Pastor Ronald Meier officiating. Friends and family may visit at the funeral home from 4:00pm until the time of service. Private inurnment will take place at Lake View Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established.The family would like tot thank the doctors and staff in Unit 2, at Mercy Medical Center, for their excellent care and compassion that was given to our mother. Your kindness will never be forgotten.We love you Mom.You will forever be in our hearts!
