Judith “Judy” A. Sicard, age 72, went home to be with her Savior on March 7, 2021 at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She was born to the late Roland and Harriet (McDonald) Piche on December 28, 1948 in Winooski, Vermont. Judy grew up in South Burlington and graduated from South Burlington High School in 1966. On August 18, 1968 she married Thomas B. Wheel and left Vermont to support his career in the U.S. Army. Judy graduated in with a certificate in Practical Nursing from the J.F. Drake State Technical College in Huntsville, Alabama on September 26, 1980. She spent her career as an elder care and private practice Licensed Practical Nurse in Alabama, New York, Vermont, and Florida. Nursing was her true calling and she happily spent her career and retirement taking care to others. In her free time, Judy was an active member of her local church. She was a member and Sunday school teacher at New Hope Ministries in Naples, Florida for over 25 years. Upon leaving Florida, Judy was a member of New Life Community church in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, and Union Bible Church in Alburgh, Vermont. Many described her as a friendly, warm, generous, compassionate, faithful, and loving presence in their lives. Her impact on us all will leave a lifetime of happy memories.
Judy is survived by her children, Kerry Wheel, Tony (Errah) Wheel, and Mary Sicard; siblings, James (Rita) Piche, Jean (Peter) Gadue, Linda (Bruce) Britch, Carolyn Piche, Michael Piche, and Anne (Gary) Eldred; grandchildren Noel and Joy Wheel; sister-in-law, Laurie Piche; many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins…and a few good dogs and cats.
In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by Thomas Piche.
Judy’s passing has been honored in Wisconsin on March 21, 2021. A celebration of Judy’s life will take place in Burlington, Vermont the summer of 2021 following easing of the COVID-19 restrictions in that state.
