Julie Ann Kent, age 59, passed away on Friday, January 8, 2021. She was born on September 21, 1961 in Waupaca, WI to the late Kenneth and Nancy (Diener) Zabel. Julie was united in marriage to David Kent on February 8, 1992 in Oshkosh.
Julie graduated from Weyauwega High School in 1979. She dealt with Myotonic Dystrophy for many years but never let it get her down. She liked to play sheepshead and cribbage. Julie had a fondness for the Green Bay Packers and Mickey Mouse. She was able to visit the Magic Kingdom a few years ago, a trip she always fondly talked about. Julie also had a close friendship with a childhood friend that she maintained through all the years, Karen Drews.
Julie is survived by her husband, Dave Kent, of Oshkosh; one son, Anthony Books; two brothers: Lyle (Angie) Zabel, of Winneconne, Kevin (Tammie) Zabel, of Fond du Lac; sister-in-law, Jean Zabel of Weyauwega, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and extended family and friends. Julie was further preceded in death by her brother, Jeff Zabel.
The family would like to thank her caregiver of many years, C.J., and St. Andrews Church for all the care and compassion given to her.
A funeral service for Julie will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 15, 2021 at Konrad Behlman Funeral Home, 402 Waugoo Ave, Oshkosh. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will take place after the service at Lind Center Cemetery.
