Julie Lynn Burns

Julie L. Burns (Olson) passed away the morning of April 10, 2006 with her loving family by her side, following a 15 year battle with breast cancer. Julie was born September 7, 1960 in Menominee, Michigan; the daughter of Warren G. and Alice L. Olson. Julie graduated Menominee High School and married her high school sweetheart, Timothy J. Burns on December 02, 1978. She received an Associate in Arts degree from UW-Marinette and later moved to Oshkosh in 1985 to attend UW.-Oshkosh College of Nursing. She graduated in December of 1988 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. Through their marriage Tim and Julie Burns were blessed with three wonderful sons; Jacob (21), Bryan (18), and Christopher (18).Together with her husband Tim, they started New Haven of Oshkosh, an assisted living program in March of 1989. Thereafter they continued to open area facilities; Arborview Manor in Oshkosh and Webster Manor in Omro. Julie was proud that she and her husband Tim could work together making a difference in the lives of area seniors. Through her innovative ideas she pioneered new alternatives in living options for seniors. Julie was committed to providing quality care to the elderly. Julie worked as the Facilities Registered Nurse for several years before hiring additional nurses, and remained active in the daily operation of their business up until her passing.Julie was an amazing mother for her three sons, and participated in many aspects of their lives always providing positive encouragement and support. She participated in scouting with her sons as Den Leader and a Committee Member for Scouting Awards for five years in Cub Scout Pack 105 at Emmeline Cook Elementary School.Julie enjoyed relaxing at her home with her husband and family, family camping trips to Upper Michigan, family gatherings, exercising, traveling, and crossword puzzles. Julie is survived by her husband Tim of 27 years, and her three sons, all of Oshkosh; Jacob (21), Bryan (18), and Christopher (18). She is also survived by two brothers; Knute Olson and Michael (Traci) Olson, both of Marinette, Wisconsin; five sisters; Mary Olson, Joyce Rutta and Nancy Marineau, all of Menominee, Michigan; and Wanda (Gary) Luthardt and Audrey (Steve) Bergstrom both of Marinette, Wisconsin. Julie is further survived by her mother and father in-law, Richard and Marie Burns of Omro, Wisconsin; two brothers-in-law, George (Bonita) Burns of Oshkosh and Scott (Dawn) Burns of Marinette, Wisconsin; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Warren Olson.Julie s family would like to extend their thanks and appreciation to Dr. Timothy Goggins and all of the staff at Fox Valley Hematology & Oncology for their care and assistance over the past few years.Services for Julie will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 13, 2006 at the Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home – Westside with the Rev. Gregory Decker officiating. Family and friends may call at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. until the service time. Memorials have been established to the American Cancer Society, 2616 S Oneida St Suite #3, Appleton, Wi. 54915; and Labor of Love, 204 Church Ave, Oshkosh, WI. 54901.
