June D. Zuehlke passed away on Sunday, May 22, 2022. She was 97 years old. Born July 4, 1924, to Elmer and Pauline (Nobinsky) Sweet, her birthday was never forgotten and always had fireworks to celebrate the event. A war bride, she married the one and only true love of her life, Raymond Zuehlke, on December 8, 1942.
She was preceded in death (much too soon) by her devoted husband. She was further preceded in death by her mother and father; her baby daughter, Christine; daughter, Donna Rost; brother, Richard Sweet; and sister, Jean Emnott.
Survivors include her son and caretaker for the past few years, Mike Zuehlke, her daughter Wendy (Robyn) Schnell, her grandchildren, Ben Rost, Michael Rost, Charlie (Katie) Schnell, Kristen Schnell, and her great-grandchildren, Lyndsey, Harper, Rachel, Gretchen, Paige, Raylan, Kenzie, Emma, and Beckett.
She lived her life her way and a long life it was. She devoted her life to her husband and raising her children. She lived many years without her husband by her side, but now they are finally reunited again, and the melody can linger on.
June’s family would like to thank the Visiting Angels and Aurora at Home for the care given to June in her time of need.
A funeral service will be held at the Lake View Memorial Park chapel, 2786 Algoma Blvd. on Thursday, May 26, 2022, at 2:30 p.m. Burial will take place immediately following the service.
