Karen M. Cudnohoske

November 11, 1952 - April 2, 2025

It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Karen M. Cudnohoske, who was called home to be with her Lord on April 2, 2025, at ThedaCare Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.

Karen was born on November 11, 1952, in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, to Robert and Donna (Schmidt) Yanke. She graduated from Winnebago Lutheran Academy in 1970 and, shortly after, married the love of her life, Richard Cudnohoske, on June 24, 1972. Together, they built a beautiful life and family.

Karen had a remarkable career at Mental Health Consultants in Oshkosh, where she served for over 17 years as Executive Administrator. After retirement, she continued to share her time and talents in part-time roles with the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, Oshkosh Parks Department, and Bath & Body Works.

A woman of strong Christian faith, Karen served her Lord with gladness. She was deeply involved in her children's lives and athletic activities, coaching both volleyball and cheerleading for many years at Grace Lutheran School. She also played in the church handbell choir and later joined the choir at Immanuel Lutheran Church, where she and Richard were members.

During their time living in Arizona, Karen and Richard pursued meaningful missionary work at East Fork Lutheran Mission on the Apache Indian Reservation in the White Mountains of Arizona-an experience that was dear to her .

Karen was a devoted mother and grandmother, always there for her family with unwavering support, love, and faith. She found great peace in the in the natural beauty of her backyard and sharing snuggles with her kitties.

She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Richard Cudnohoske; her children, Eric (Paula) Cudnohoske and Amy (Brian Eilbes) Cudnohoske; and her cherished grandchildren, Kyelie (Matt) Helmer, Miaella Cudnohoske, Arianna Cudnohoske, and Jaxon Eilbes.

She is also survived by her mother, Donna (Schmidt) Yanke; siblings, Bob (Mary) Yanke, Jim Yanke, and Edie (John) Nieman; brothers-in-law, David (Cheryl) Cudnohoske, Dale (Lori Pritzel) Cudnohoske; sisters-in-law, Karen (Rod) Bollinger, Jeanne (Rev. Earle) Treptow, and Kay Yanke; along with many beloved nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Karen was preceded in death by her father, Robert Yanke; her parents-in-law, Wally and Jeanette Cudnohoske; her sister, Jean Priebe; and her brother, Mark Yanke.

Karen's kindness, faith, and love will remain forever in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.

A visitation with family and friends will be held at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Oshkosh, WI, on Saturday, April 12, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a service and celebration of life at the church.

In lieu of flowers, all contributions will be forwarded to East Fork Lutheran Church on the Apache Lutheran Mission in the White Mountains of Arizona-honoring Karen's passion for ministry and service.
