Karen Gialdella

July 18, 1949 — March 11, 2025

Karen L. Gialdella, age 75, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, March 11, 2025. She was born on July 18, 1949, in Oshkosh, WI to the late Kenneth Bunke and Joan (Rhyner) Fugelberg.

A graduate of Oshkosh High School, Karen worked at Reeve Union Hall at UW-Oshkosh before embarking on travels across the country. She later owned and operated a dairy farm in Ohio before returning to her hometown of Oshkosh, where she spent over 20 years working at the Oshkosh B'Gosh corporate office until her retirement.

Karen had a deep love for music and dancing, and she played the bass clarinet in her high school band. One of her fondest memories was a European tour with her high school band and performing on the Eiffel Tower. She also found joy in watching her favorite TV shows, cooking for her family, and admiring the tulips that bloomed around her home each spring. However, nothing brought her more happiness than her children and grandchildren. She spoke of them with immense pride, and the love she had for them shone brightly in her eyes.

Karen is survived by her children, Jessica Gialdella, Erik (Anna) Gialdella, and Jillene (Jacob) Buckner; her beloved grandchildren, Caleb Gialdella, Zephyr, Tempest, and Atlas Buckner; her sister, Lois Kaufman; sister-in-law, Lorie Bunke; and brother-in-law, Mike Leaman. She is also survived by Becky Gialdella, many cherished nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her son, Ryan; her siblings, James Bunke, Kay Bunke, and Linda Leaman; and her former spouse, Gerald Gialdella.

A celebration of Karen's life will be held on Friday, April 4, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Homes - Westside (100 Lake Pointe Dr.). There will be a private ceremony at Lake View Memorial Park's Mausoleum, which will be her final resting place.

Karen's warmth, kindness, and love for her family will be deeply missed but forever remembered.

Isaiah 40:31 But those who trust in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary; they will walk and not faint.
