Karl J. Wendt, age 45, passed away on Wednesday, July 15, 2015, after a courageous battle with cancer for over four years. He was born on July 30, 1969 to Terry Wendt Sr. and Patricia Pat Jodar. Karl married Lori Maldwin on September 13, 1997 in Oshkosh. Karl grew up in Madison, WI where he graduated from La Follette High School. He went on to obtain a Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice at UW-Platteville. Karl moved to Oshkosh where he started his loving family and his 24 year career with the Oshkosh Police Department. He loved nothing more than spending time with his family and watching his three girls grow up. Karl was an avid Packers and Brewers fan and enjoyed going to the games with his brother-in-law, Jeff. He was passionate about fantasy football/ baseball and had many teams each season. Karl also enjoyed working out at the Y, golfing, card nights with his buddies, and talking smart. Karl touched everyone he met with his huge heart and witty sense of humor. The children at Carl Traeger Elementary School will miss his positive influence where he helped for many years and was referred to as the Lunch Lady. Each day is a gift not a given right.
