Katherine Marie Salm

October 21, 1924 — December 28, 2016

Katherine M. Salm, age 92, passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at Aurora Medical Center with her family by her side. She was born on November 21, 1924 in Kaukauna to the late William and Rose (Geitner) Reynolds. Katherine was married to Joseph J. Salm Sr. on October 26, 1946 in Milwaukee. She graduated high school and served as a nurses assistant in the Oshkosh area for over 20 years. She also was a life time member of the Most Blessed Sacrament Parish (St. Marys Site) of Oshkosh.Katherine enjoyed Sheepshead, going to the casino, playing cards, ballroom dancing, gardening and canning vegetables. She was an avid Milwaukee Brewer and Packers fan. Above all, she treasured the time she spent with her family and friends the most.She is survived by nine of her children: Gerald Salm of Oshkosh, Kathleen (William) Ramsay of Oshkosh, Richard (Gail) Salm of Madison, Joan (Brian) Frank of Oshkosh, Theresa (Calvin) Potratz of Oshkosh, William Salm of Oshkosh, Stephen (Jill) Salm of Eau Claire, Robert (Susan) Salm of Oshkosh, and Sharon (Randy) Bruckschen of Howards Grove; 24 grandchildren: Karen Zwicky, Brian Salm, Paula Ewens, Scott ,and Jeff Ramsay, Jason Salm, Kristen Gabriel, Daniel Frank, Jennifer Butzlaff, Michael and Daniel Potratz, Dustin and Anthony Salm, Amanda, Jacob, Savannah, and Megan Salm, Kyle and Jenna Priest, Kristina Reierson, Melissa LeMay, Eric, Ryan, and Emily Bruckschen; eighteen great grandchildren: Jonathon and Nathan Zwicky, Joseph Ewens, Noelle, Logan, and Braydan Frank, Carson and Brinley LeMay, Seraphina Salm, Gianna Ramsay, Henry and Franklin Potratz, Tyler, Hunter,and Lucas Davis, Cole, Bryce, and Maia Butzlaff, and Elise Gabriel; two great-great grandchildren; sister: Agnes Anschutz; and two sister in laws Lillian and Catherine Salm.Katherine was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Joseph J. Salm Sr.; and sons: Dennis, Joseph Jr., and John Salm.A Mass of Christian burial will be held for Katherine at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at Most Blessed Sacrament Parish (St. Mary Site) with Fr. James Jugenheimer officiating. Visitation will be held at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Homes (Westside) on Monday, January 2, 2017, from 4:00 p.m. until a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. and again on Tuesday at church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established.The family would like to send a thank you to Dr. Ammar Alzoubi and staff for their excellent care. Katherines family would also like to extend a special thank you to Kristina Reierson and the many loving care givers at Bethel Home.Those we love dont go away, they walk beside us every day, unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed and very dear.
