Kathleen Gay Dillon

Kathleen G. Dillon, age 79, passed away on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at her residence at Evergreen Retirement Community in Oshkosh. She was born the daughter of the late George and Catherine (Dillon) Gay in Dunellen, NJ.Kathleen and her family lived in Clinton, NJ before moving to Viroqua, WI in the early 70s. In Viroqua she was a small business owner and hobby farmer for many years before attending school at Western Wisconsin Technical College in LaCrosse, where she graduated with an Associates degree in EEG Diagnostics. Kathleens travels didnt end there however, as she lived in Tennessee and Iowa before retiring in Florida. Along the way she made many good friends and in Florida she did volunteer work and enjoyed several years of warm weather. In 2009 she moved to Evergreen Retirement Community where she was involved in many activities and started the knitting club, making hats for infants. She was also active in art class, choir and lapidary. She is survived by her brother, George A. (Sandy) Gay, her children, Elizabeth (Significant other Mark Mirick) Ehrhardt, and John (Trish) Ehrhardt, Marie (Brett) Miller; grandchildren, Catherine (Steve) Richter, Michelle Lighthart, Nick and Ryan Kuske, and Ian Miller.Kathleen was an artist; she saw color and beauty in her surroundings. She enjoyed gardening, painting and nature. In New Jersey and Viroqua she had large flower and vegetable gardens and she made her own maple syrup. She taught her children how to respect nature and pull beauty out of everything around us. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. A visitation and celebration of life will be held for Kathleen from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Homes-(Westside).The family would like to thank Dr. Phyllis Lee and the team at Evergreen Retirement Community for their thoughtful care and support.In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Evergreen Foundation (1103 N. Westfield St.)
