Kathryn Elizabeth (Peppler) Martell, 83, died Friday, May 16, 2014, at Oakwood Manor. She was born in Pickett, WI., on October 9, 1930 to the late Casper and Catherina (Weber) Peppler. On June 28, 1952 she married James Martell in Pickett, WI.. He preceded her in death on September 26, 2012.She worked as secretary/bookkeeper in several places where she lived over the years. Her most beloved career was being a wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved family and get-togethers and she was a great cook. Nobody left her home hungry or empty handed. She lived several places with husband James, who was relocated often for his job. She lived in Princeton, Milwaukee, Evansville, Indiana, Erie, Pennsylvania, Everett, Washington, and retired in Oshkosh, Wisconsin close to family. Faith in Jesus Christ was important to her an she was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Oshkosh where she attended Tuesday bible class, was a member of the Ladies Guild, and served on Alter committee. She volunteered at Aurora Gift Shop many years. She loved talking with people, her smile was one in a million and she loved to laugh. She was beautiful inside as she was on the outside.Kathryn is survived by her son, Steve Martell of Oshkosh; daughters, Nancy (Kevin) Jahnke of Oshkosh, Jean (Dan) Thompson of Greendale, WI.; three brothers, Fritz Zitzer of Milwaukee, David Peppler of Charleston, NC; Rueben Peppler of Conover, WI.; one sister, Leah Kolterjahn of Horse Shoe Bend, AR.; and three grandchildren, Mallory Thompson of Appleton, WI., Andrew Thompson of Greendale, WI., and Benjamin Jahnke of Oshkosh, WI.; one grandson, Daniel Stampth, and his mom Ann Martell; sister-in-law, Marion Peppler of Oshkosh, WI., and many nieces, nephews, and children.She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, her infant daughter, Louise; brothers, Alexander, William, Adolph, Emmanuel, Edwin; sisters, Eleanor, Ruth, and Lydia.Visitation will take place at Konrad-Behlman Westside, on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 from 4-6pm. A memorial service will take place at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 338 N. Eagle St., Thursday, May 29, 2014 at 11am. Visitation will take place from 10am until the time of service with Rev. David Pagel officiating. Inurnment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, Ripon, WI..In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in her name for Autism, and Lung Cancer research. We would like to express our thanks to Tim and Oakwood Manor staff for taking great care of our mom and making us feel a part of the Oakwood Manor family. She had too many favorites to name them. She loved them all. Thanks to the girls at her table who took good care of her too. Also to Lily the dog, for her daily visits to mom. Thanks also to Heartland Hospice for making mom as comfortable as possible and helping our family go through the process.
