Kathy Jean (Dahms) Middleton passed away peacefully after a brief illness and went to her eternal home on Tuesday September 19, 2017. She was born in Oshkosh on October 16, 1951, the daughter of Victor and Edith Dahms.
She was baptized, schooled, and confirmed at Grace Lutheran. After attending Oshkosh West High School, Kathy served in the US Navy as a hospital corpsman. There she met and married the love of her life, Frank Middleton. After Frank’s retirement they moved back to Wisconsin where Kathy earned associate degrees in both accounting and nursing. Her early career was spent working at Mercy Medical Center. She was then fortunate enough to utilize both degrees working for her friend and mentor Dr. Lois Jacobs. Upon retirement she moved to Fort Worth where she became a member of Abiding Faith and enjoyed activities with her church friends and family. Kathy always loved being with family and friends, shopping, playing cards, cooking, eating, and spoiling her “babies” Cocoa and Rocky.
Survivors include brother Steven (Diane) Dahms of Salinas, California, sisters Sherry Dahms of Oshkosh and Ellen (Ron) Marshall of Fort Worth, Texas, along with nieces Erin and Jackie and nephews Robert and Erik. She is also survived by step children Carmen, Maria, and Gilbert, their spouses, children and grandchildren, all of California. Special thanks to her friend Barb, who for the past weeks was a huge help to Kathy and her family in Texas. Kathy will be missed by many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by husband Frank in 2008 and her parents.
A memorial service was held at Abiding Faith Lutheran Church in Fort Worth on Saturday September 23rd. Funeral services will be held in Oshkosh at Grace Lutheran Church (915 Nebraska St) on Friday, September 29th with Pastors Nate Bourman and Chadwick Graham officiating. Visitation is from 11:30 – 1:00, with the service at 1:00, followed by military honors.
As I reach my final day
He will not leave me in the grave
But I will rise and He will call me home
THE LORD IS MY SALVATION
