Kelly L. Derr, 57, Oshkosh, passed away peacefully with her family by her side Saturday, February 25, 2017. She was born September 2, 1959, in Oshkosh, the daughter of Leslie and Suzanne (Weigandt) Derr. Kelly was a graduate of Oshkosh West High School. She met the love of her life, Jeffery Nicolaison, who she had spent 30 years with, and together they have two daughters, who were Kellys world. Kelly volunteered for many years at Roosevelt Elementary School where her daughters attended school, until she was hired as a paraprofessional, which she had done for over 10 years. Her involvement with the students and the entire staff will be greatly missed. Kelly enjoyed going to the casino with family, cooking, baking, entertaining, watching the Packers, and playing Sheepshead. She was a very strong family person who would have done anything for her girls; family was everything to Kelly, as were her fury kids Bear and Lilly. Kelly was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Oshkosh.Kelly will be greatly missed by her daughters: Alissa (James) Burrows and Rachel Nicolaison; significant other, Jeffery; father and mother, Les and Sue; a brother, Quint (Mary) Derr; sisters: Shelby Derr, Nickie (Dee) Durant; and Kerry Derr (Scott); a sister-in-law, Linda Bosin; brothers-in-law: Bill (Sue) Nicolaison and Joe Nicolaison; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.She was preceded in death by her grandparents; aunt, Emogene Jost; father- and mother-in-law, Robert (Donna) Nicolaison, and a brother-in-law, Gene Bosin.A celebration of Kellys life will be held at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, March 2, 2017, at Zion Lutheran Church, 400 N. Sawyer Street, Oshkosh, with Rev. Jeffrey Knoll officiating. Inurnment will be in Lake View Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the church from 3:00 p.m. Thursday until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, donations in Kellys name may be made to the Vince Lombardi Cancer Clinic, 855 N. Westhaven Drive, Oshkosh, 54904. The family would like to thank the staff of Aurora Medical Center and the Lombardi Cancer Center, especially Dr. Virani and nurse Karen, for their loving care and kindness. Also, special thanks to the entire Roosevelt staff, as well as Kellys lunch girls, for their comfort and support. Mary and Pastor Knoll, thank you for your time and commitment to Kelly.
