Kenneth Barney D. Zwicky, 89, of Town of Black Wolf, died Tuesday April 22, 2008 at Theda Clark Regional Medical Center. He was born on July 13, 1918 in the Town of Black Wolf a son of William and Violet Lynch Zwicky. On December 21, 1946 he married Erma Nimmer in Van Dyne. She preceded him in death on August 8, 1969.He was a veteran of the United States Army, and a member of Zion Ev. Lutheran Church in Van Dyne. One of his greatest joys in life was going elk hunting in Colorado with the elk hunting gang from Wendts.He is survived by three brothers-in-law Harry (Gladys) Nimmer Jr., Robert Nimmer, and Carlton Nimmer, three sisters-in-law Anita Nimmer, Lorraine(Gordy) Kargus, Jeanette(Ronald) Leeman, eleven nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one brother Edwin Zwicky, two brothers-in-law Earl Nimmer, Robert Zemke, two sisters-in-law Fern Spanbauer, LaVerne Zemke, his mother-in-law and father-in-law Adela and Harry Nimmer.Funeral services will be held on Friday April 25, 2008 at 1 p.m at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church in Van Dyne with Rev. Lester Fritz officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Knaack (Zion) Cemetery.A memorial has been established to Zion Ev. Lutheran Church in Van Dyne.
