Kenneth Keene

Kenneth Keene, age 83, passed away on Friday, October 3, 2014 at Evergreen Retirement Community. He was born on December 26, 1930 in Oshkosh the son of the late Dalmer and Janet (Lyons) Kamm. Kenneth graduated in the January class of 1949 and went to further his education at Oshkosh Business College. On June 9, 1956 he was united in marriage to Dolores Luft at Emmanuel United Church of Christ. Their marriage was blessed with two sons: Kevin and Brian. Kenneth proudly served our country in the Naval Reserves and later enlisted in the Army and was stationed in Alaska. Kenneth had many talents and was employed at many different places some to include: he was an assistant manager at the original Copps Department Store, later worked for Tims Hardware, he delivered for Meyers Sausage, where his wife worked; security guard at Mercy Medical Center, and three different shoe stores: Rothenbach Shoes, Woodruffs Shoes and Brittons Shoes until his retirement due to health issues. Kenneth loved to sing; he was in the a cappella choir in high school, the Apollo Male Choir of Oshkosh and the Emmanuel Church Choir. Some of the other clubs he was part of at the church were: ushers club, couples club, and the Dart ball Team. Kenneth and Dolores loved to travel. They visited most of the 50 states also Canada and Mexico. He loved his Sunday drives including trips to the casino later in life. He was an avid fan for the Wisconsin teams, Packers, Brewers and the Badgers.Kenneth is survived by his wife, of 58 years, Dolores, one son, Brian Keene of Oshkosh, brother-in-law, Norman (Arylss) Luft, two nephews: Tim (Diane) Luft and Tom (Tori) Luft and one great niece, Allison Luft. He was preceded in death by his son, Kevin, his parents and parents-in-law, John and Gertrude Luft.Memorial service will be at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-Westside, 100 Lake Pointe Dr. with Pastor Andi Wolf officiating. Friends and family may visit at the funeral home from 4:00 pm until the time of service. Inurnment will take place at Lake View Memorial Park, Oshkosh. A memorial is being established.The family would like to thank Generations Hospice, Evergreen Retirement Community, Dr Alzoubi and staff and Dr. Wilson and staff for all their wonderful care that was given to Kenneth. Your kindness will never be forgotten.
