Kenneth Wayne Morrison, 70, of Oshkosh, passed away while in St. Luke's Hospital in Milwaukee at 7:45 a.m. on Monday November 1, 2010. Kenneth was born November 19, 1939 in Ottumwa, Iowa to Frank and Mildred Barnes Morrison. He married Phyllis Ryan on September 3, 1960 and they recently celebrated 50 years.Graduating from high school in 1958 in Ottumwa, Iowa, Kenneth continued his education graduating from Parsons College in 1962 with his B.A., University of N.E. Missouri in 1969 with his specialists degree and finally in 1975 Oklahoma State University with his doctorate degree in Ed. Ad. and Counselor Education. Throughout his life he was involved in many research projects.His experience from Belle Plaine High School, to Ottumwa High School, Southern Illinois as a graduate to research fellow all led to his being at University of Oshkosh which he enjoyed for 33 years, retiring in 2000 from the Counselor Education Department.Kenneth enjoyed writing, reading, and playing his guitar. He was active in various organizations, activities, writing books and articles and received many awards. He was a member of multiple educational associations. His favorite pastime was youth baseball from 1975-1990 Babe Ruth Baseball as a coach, Board of Directors, Secretary, President and also Commissioner of District 6 in the Wisconsin Sate Babe Ruth Program. From 1979 to present he has served on the Board of Directors/Vice President of Oshkosh Snitz Club, Board of Directors, Executive Vice President of David B. Tyriver Memorial Scholarship Foundation.He is survived by his wife Phyllis, daughter Mary Kay(Lee) Williams and their children Hannah Phyllis, Elijah Lee, Lydia Rose(Lone Star Lilly), Jonah Barnes, one son Mitch(Gwen) Morrison and their children Joshua Kenneth, Jasmine and Jada, his Aunts Betty and Darnielle(Frank) of Ottumwa, Iowa.He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Phillip and maternal and paternal grandparents.Funeral services will be held on Friday November 5, 2010 at 1 p.m. at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Homes-Eastside. Visitation will be held on Friday at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Lake View Memorial Park.A memorial has been established.
