On Tuesday, January 3, 2023, Kent Mosebach, loving father of four children, passed away at age 82.
Kent was born on December 23, 1940 in Marshalltown, IA to Albert and Dorothy (Packer) Mosebach. He received his Bachelors of Arts degree from Lakeland College in Sheboygan, WI. He graduated with a Bachelors of Divinity degree from the United Theological Seminary of the Twin Cities in St. Paul, Minnesota. He was ordained into the Christian Ministry at St. John's United Church of Christ of Melbourne, IA. He was installed as the Assistant Pastor of St. John's UCC of Michigan City, IN. He went on to serve pastorships at Portage Congregational UCC in Portage, MI; Faith UCC in Milwaukee,WI; St. John's UCC in Merton,WI; St. Paul’s UCC in Colgate,WI; and St. Paul’s UCC in Oshkosh,WI. During his time at St. John's UCC in Merton and St. Paul's UCC in Colgate, he graduated with a Masters of Arts in Counseling at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee.
Kent immersed himself into anything he considered important with intensity and energy; he considered a compassionate gospel and the institutional church to be highly important things. He loved children and singing with them and teaching the faith through song. He was an integral part of community rotaries and churches in which he attended.
Kent was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Dorothy Mosebach, his wife Julie Mosebach, and his wife Audrey Mosebach. He is survived by his sister Ellyn (Mosebach) Hountz, his former spouse Jan Mosebach, his two children Aaron (Lori) Mosebach and Adam (Cheryl) Mosebach, his two step children Michael (Ellen) Sorensen and Kristen (Sorensen, Keith) Martin, his grandchildren Jason Mosebach, Thomas Mosebach, Olivia Mosebach, Claire Mosebach, and Faith Mosebach, his step grandchildren Evan Martin, Alexander Sorensen and Sofia Sorensen, and his grandchildren by choice Robert Miller and Christina Miller.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at Congregational United Church of Christ Neenah-Menasha 1511 Nicolet Blvd, Neenah,WI at 11 am.It will be streamed on facebook, ws search CONGREGATIONALUCCNEENAHMENASHA. In lieu of flowers, per Kent's request, a memorial may be given to United Theological Seminary of the Twin Cities- with unrestricted use for Theological Studies.
