Kim Marie Schelfhout

July 10, 1969 — December 21, 2014

Kim Hamer Schelfhout, 45, passed away in her sleep on December 21, 2014 in Oshkosh, WI after a lengthy illness. Kim was born July 10, 1969, daughter of Susan Haffeman Lang and William Hamer, Oshkosh.Kim was born in Oshkosh but spent a great deal of time in the Madison Area, graduating from Waunakee High School and then went on to take other courses at the Tech school. She worked at University Hospital and after moving back to Oshkosh, she worked for Dept. of Corrections where she retired early from Oshkosh Corrections as a sergeant. Kims zest for life and compassion for others made her a very special person. She brought a smile to everyone who associated with her. She will truly be missed by MANY.Kim married Todd Schelfhout in 2004 and is survived by their daughter, Joely Sue, 8. Also surviving is her son, Peter Edge, 23, Kims mom and dad as well as half-sisters, Keli Jezwinski, Christine and Kadi Hamer and a half-brother, Bret Hamer. Kim was preceded in death by her grandparents, Frank and Lorraine Haffeman and Rae and John Hamer.Also surviving are her many aunts and uncles, including, Sandra Roebke, Gary Haffeman, Mark Haffeman, Peggy Forseth and Nancy Haffeman-Bertz.Special thanks to her friend and caregiver, Bridget Gerndt and to Todd Schelfhout for his selflessness in caring for Kim. Many thanks to hospice nurse Stacy.In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be set up in Kims name for her children.Following cremation a celebration of Kims life will be held at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home, (Westside) on Saturday, January 3, from 1-3 p.m.
