Kirby R. Nelson

Kirby Rose Nelson, 42, passed away on March 3, 2018. She was born April 9, 1975 in Oshkosh WI, the daughter of Robert “Bob” Nelson and Rosemary Joas. After her parents divorced, her father married Sandee Sheffer, who became Kirby’s loving stepmother. As a young adult, Kirby married Dean Peters and they were blessed with two daughters, Selena (Lena) and Lillian (Lilly). After divorcing, Kirby met her fiancé, Jim Hanseder and together they have a son, Lyric.
Kirby is survived by her parents, Bob and Rosemary; fiancé, Jim Hanseder; daughters, Selena and Lillian Peters; son, Lyric Hanseder; sisters, Jayne Frank and Lynne Porst; brothers, Steve (Jackie) Nelson, Joel, and Jason (Robin) Porst; and numerous other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by a brother, David Burdick; grandmother, Lizzie May Nelson; and step-mother, Sandee Nelson.
Memorial service will be held at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 1860 Wisconsin St, Oshkosh on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 12:00 PM with Rev. Jan LaVake officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the service begins at noon.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established for her children’s college and careers.
