Larry L. Alexander (The Legend, as his kids liked to call him), passed away on 1/7/21, at the
age of 77, in his home at the Waterford, in Oshkosh, WI. He was born in Oshkosh on August 26,
1943, a son of Samuel and Doris Alexander. He was a graduate of Oshkosh High School, class
of 1961, and he served in the National Guard from 1964-1970.
Larry was employed for 27 years in the banking industry and for 15 years in the security
industry, serving Oshkosh Truck. He was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church and in
his youth, was part of the Walther League, serving as an usher for several years. Larry loved
playing cribbage with his children, and with his brother in the city Adult Cribbage League. He
enjoyed casino trips and attending Oshkosh Titan games with his brother, and was a lifelong
Green Bay Packers fan. Larry was a beloved regular at his favorite dining places - Jansen’s,
Jeff’s on Rugby, Ratch and Debs, Robins, and Trails End. He always wore a smile on his face,
loved to joke around, and was a friend to all. Larry was immensely proud of his family, loved
showing off his children, and sharing stories with those around him.
He was preceded in death by his parents Samuel and Doris Alexander. His legacy is carried on
by his five children, Todd (Wendi) Alexander, Jodi (Matt) VanderTuig, Jamie Alexander, Ashley
Alexander, and Courtney (Lance) Miller; his nine grandchildren, Taylor, Kaiden, Reighlyn,
Connor, Carter, Claira, Ava, Caleb, and Kennedy, and his brother, Wayne (Bonnie) Alexander.
His family would like to say a very special thank you to the staff at the Waterford for providing
Larry with a safe, and loving home these past couple of years. A special shout out to Pat and
Deb of Heartland Hospice, they are amazing professionals!
A private service for family will be held at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Homes.
