Laura H. Truyman

Laura H. Truyman, age 92, of Oshkosh passed away on Wednesday, June 9, 2021, at Eden Meadows. She was born in Appleton on September 13, 1928, to the late Arnold and Petronella (Berkers) DeLaat.

Laura was united in marriage to Francis “Jack” Truyman on July 23, 1949, at Holy Cross Church in Kaukauna. They had a beautiful life together for 70 years before his passing on April 2, 2019.

In her younger years, Laura was a beautician for several years. She continued practicing her profession doing residents’ hair at Bethel Home in Oshkosh. She was active in her church, St. Mary, as a Church Basement Lady and helping out whenever she could. Laura and Jack were very active in the Elks Organization, volunteering and raising funds for other organizations in the community. Laura also enjoyed gardening and bowling, but her greatest passion was golfing. She continued to golf into her 70’s, getting several trophies and a couple hole in ones. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She continued making new friends and enjoyed her last few years in her beautiful apartment on the river.

Laura is survived by her three children: Donald (Gloria Wilson), Linda (Daniel) Plotz, and Ellen (Dennis) Miller; seven grandchildren: Scott (Kasi) Ludwig, Ryan (Olivia) Ludwig, Stephanie (Bob Bursek) Plotz, Christopher Plotz, Melissa Truyman, Patty (Kyle) Fugar, Benjamin Truyman; and 11 great grandchildren. She was further preceded in death by her great granddaughter, Lily Boettcher.

Funeral services for Laura will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at Most Blessed Sacrament Parish – St Mary, 605 Merritt Avenue, Oshkosh. Visitation will be on Tuesday at the church from 10:00 am until the time of service. Private services will be held at a later date for her innichement at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Oshkosh.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Elks Organization or Most Blessed Sacrament.
