Laura Johanna Watkins

Laura J. Watkins, 95 of Oshkosh, died Friday December 5, 2008 at Bethel Home. She was born in Green Lake on June 29, 1913 daughter of Arthur J. and Wilhelmina Helmer Beier. On May 30, 1937 she married Earl C. Watkins in Green Lake. He preceded her in death on June 25, 1969.Laura had been employed by the Mercy Medical Center and was a member of Martin Luther Lutheran Church. She had been an active member serving on the Alter Guild, the Ladies Aid and as a Sunday School teacher.She is survived by her three sons, Earl C. (Betty) Watkins Jr. of Manitowish Waters, WI, Ralph C. (Rose) Watkins of Oshkosh, and Kenneth J. (Judy) Watkins of Menasha, WI; three grandchildren, Michael Watkins of Oshkosh, Richard Watkins of Menasha, and Karry (Joseph) Moehn of Hilbert, WI; and a sister-in-law, Carol Beier of Green Lake, WI. She was preceded in death by her four brothers, Bernard, Herman, Robert, and Harold Beier.Her funeral will be Monday December 8, 2008 at 11:00 AM at the Bethel Home Chapel with the Rev. Jeffrey Berg officiating. Burial will be in Lake View Memorial Park. Family and friends may call at the chapel on Monday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Memorials to Martin Luther School and to Bethel Home Special Care Unit have been established.Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
