Laverne Dorothy Paulus

LaVerne D. Paulus, 86, Oshkosh, passed away Saturday, July 11, 2015, at Park View Care Center. She was born September 3, 1928, in Oshkosh, daughter of Oscar and Linda (Kaspar) Dreyer. LaVerne married Carlton Paulus October 8, 1949, in Oshkosh, and he preceded her in death June 12, 2003. LaVerne was employed as a store clerk for Johnson Hills, downtown Oshkosh, for many years. Later she worked for Reeve Memorial Union Bookstore at UW-Oshkosh, as an accountant, until her retirement in 2003. She enjoyed needlework, reading, bird watching, and Packer and Badger football. LaVerne was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Oshkosh.LaVerne is survived by her children: Linda Mathe and David Paulus; a son-in-law, Lynn Matuszczak; grandchildren: Michael Matuszczak and Jodi (Robert) McGrath; great grandchildren: Hannah and Kevin; a sister, Elaine Gates; brothers- and sisters-in-law: Dorothy Flanigan, Patsy Baer, Frank (Ruthie) Paulus, and David (Anne) Paulus.She was also preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Sandy Matuszczak; brothers- and sisters-in-law: Richard Gates, John Flanigan, Robert Baer, Priscilla (Richard) Snyder, Russell Paulus and Norman Paulus.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 15, 2015, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 370 Bowen Street, Oshkosh, with Rev. Kelly Leary officiating. Private interment will follow in Lake View Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-Eastside location (Waugoo Ave) Tuesday from 4:00-6:00 p.m., and again at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service Wednesday.In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established.
