Lawrence Laabs

Lawrence L. Laabs, age 85, of Oshkosh, passed away on Saturday October 17, 2015 at his residence. He was born on August 18, 1930 in Greenwood, Wi. a son of William Herman and Hilda Louisa Abel Laabs. On May 24, 1952 he married Lucinda Cindy Deuel in Oshkosh.He was a veteran of the United States Navy, a member of St. Andrews Lutheran Church, worked and retired from Rockwell International, and enjoyed polka dancing, deer hunting, fishing, the Green Bay Packers, the polka band Uncle Ozzie, and was the type of man that would talk to anyone about anything. He was described as a prince among men.He is survived by his wife, five sons Gregory(Roberta) Laabs, Steven(Lynn) Laabs, Gary Laabs, Daniel Laabs, Randal Laabs, one daughter Tami(Fiance George) Laabs, two brothers Lester(Barb) Laabs, Raymond(Sandy) Laabs, ten grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; treasured and loved by many nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Marvin, and one sister Marilyn Pollack.Funeral services for Lawrence will be held on Thursday October 22, 2015 at 1 p.m. at St. Andrews Lutheran Church(1100 E. Murdock) with Rev. Karen Jewell officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Entombment will take place at Lake View Memorial Park where military honors will be provided. A memorial has been established.The family would like to thank Heartland Hospice especially Sara and Kristine.
