Leo Roland Potratz

Leo Potratz, 83, of Oshkosh passed away at Eden Meadows on Thursday, April 28, 2016. He was born on July 7, 1932 to the late Ernst and Ella (Schumacher) Potratz. He was joined in marriage on July 3, 1954 to Agnes Hemminghaus. Their marriage was blessed with seven children. Leo was a farmer and enjoyed farming his whole life. After retirement he continued to help the neighborhood farmers. He also enjoyed watching the kids play baseball. He was also a volunteer fireman for the Town of Nekimi. He loved being with his family, playing cards with friends, and going to Packer parties.He is survived by his wife, Agnes Potratz, children: Daniel (Sue) Potratz, Doug Potratz, Lori (Dawn) Potratz, Jeff (Kelly) Potratz, Jon (Lori) Potratz, Mark Potratz, Matt (Jessica) Potratz, grandchildren: Jamie (Aaron) Dillman, Joshua (Katie Holmes) Potratz, Jeremy Potratz, Justin (Nicole) Potratz, Andrew (Jade) Potratz, Allison Potratz, Michael Potratz, Brandon Potratz, Nicholas Potratz, Hallie Potratz, great grandchildren: Alyssa Potratz, Aubree Dillman; his sister: Valeria (Chet) Nitz, brothers: David (Lois) Potratz, Ronald (Shirley) Potratz, sister-in-law: Mary Hemminghaus. Leo was preceded in death by his parents: Ersnt and Ella Potratz; in laws: Oscar and Neoma Hemminghaus; and brothers in law: Rev. Roland Belanger and Chuck Hemminghaus.A funeral service for Leo will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 2, 2016 at St. Johns Lutheran Church-Nekimi (491 Old Oregon Road) with Rev. James Reiff officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 1, 2016 at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Homes-Westside from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and again on Monday at church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be at St. Johns Lutheran Cemetery- Black Wolf.In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established.The family would like to send a special thank you to the amazing staff at Eden Meadows and to FVHO for their wonderful, loving support and care they gave to Leo.
