Leonard Herman Eisert

September 18, 1927 — July 27, 2009

Leonard H. Eisert, formerly of Beloit, passed away Monday, July 27. Leonard was born September 18, 1927 in Montgomery, Minnesota to the late Herman August and Elizabeth (Wondra) Eisert. In 1945 Leonard graduated from St. Paul Park High School and enlisted in the Army, serving his country in the post-war occupation of Japan. After his discharge, Leonard worked in diesel engine mechanics for over fifty years, ending his career as an instructor for Fairbanks-Morse in Beloit. Leonard enjoyed tinkering in his workshop, eventually starting Eisert Borescope Inc. to market his version of a borescope. This proved to be a successful venture and Eisert Borescopes can be found many places where diesel engines are used.On January 20, 1951, Leonard married Callie Cathryn Wallace at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Beloit. She survives him, along with two daughters, Becky (Brian) Cleven of Sun Prairie, and Rachel (Michael) Cleven of Oshkosh, and two grandchildren, John and Katherine. Leonard is further survived by a brother Gerald (Alma) Eisert of Hastings, Minnesota, and many other relatives and friends.Visitation for Leonard will be held on Saturday, August 1 at living Water Lutheran Church,1585 S Oakwood Rd, Oshkosh, from 10:00 a.m. until the start of the funeral service at 11:30 a.m. The Rev. John Dorn will officiate. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery.
