Leonard Carl Schilcher, 79 of Oshkosh, passed away on Sunday February 4, 2007 at the Aurora Medical Center. He was born in Oshkosh on August 26, 1927, to Alfred and Agnes Robl Schilcher. From December 1944 until August 1946 he served his country in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Ormsby. After completing his tour of duty he worked at Rockwell International. He retired in 1976. Leonard enjoyed reading, fishing, hunting, gardening and especially sharing stories about his days in the Navy. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by one sister, Mary Schilcher, four brothers and sisters-in-law, Lawrence and Pat, Clifford and Pat, Norman and Charlotte, and Sylvester and Centa, all of Oshkosh. He is further survived by many nieces and nephews. Leonard was preceded in death by his brother, Alvin.A funeral mass for Leonard will take place on take place on Tuesday, February 6, 2007 at 11:00 AM with a visitation starting at 10:00 AM all at the St. Mary Catholic Church in Oshkosh. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. A memorial has been established.
