Leonard W. Kasarsky

Leonard W. Kasarsky, 91, Oshkosh, passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2017. He was born May 6, 1925, in Oshkosh, the son of Peter and Irene (Gronowski) Kasarsky. Leonard was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in WWII. He married Helen Halverson August 7, 1954, and they would have celebrated 63 years this summer.

Leonard started his working days with Diamond Match in Oshkosh, and later was employed with Mercury Marine for 33 years until his retirement. He enjoyed building things, including his home, where he lived until most recently. He was a very creative and talented craftsman. Leonard also enjoyed the Packers, family, and taking day trips with Helen throughout the state. He enjoyed activities such as bicycling, boating and snowmobiling. Leonard was a member of First English Lutheran Church, Oshkosh.

Leonard is survived by his wife, Helen; two sons: James and David (Barbara) Kasarsky, both of Oshkosh; a step-grandson, Michael DiMatteo Jr., Madison; a brother, Robert (Yvonne) Kasarsky, Menasha; nieces and a nephew, and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Carl and Joseph, and an infant sister.

Private family services will be held. Entombment will be in Lake View Memorial Park, Oshkosh.
