Lester H. Hasse, 92 of Pickett, died at the home of his daughter in Houston, Texas, on March 21, 2007. Lester was born in the Town of Nekimi, on December 24, 1914, a son of Emil and Emma Huth Hasse. He married Bernice Pitts in Oshkosh on April 26, 1941. She preceded him in death on March 21, 2005.Lester was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Oshkosh, and had been employed with the Wisconsin Carpenters Union for over 50 years. He loved woodworking projects, making puzzles, spending time in his garden, and catching fish.Survivors include a daughter, Kathleen (John) Strocher, of Houston, TX; one brother, Leo (Gerda) Hasse, Tucson, AZ.; four grandchildren, Amy (Donald) Frank; Houston, TX; Steven Campbell, Houston, TX; Michael (Ellen) Safford, Kaukauna; Kim Brehmer, Neenah; two great-grandchildren, Austin and Taylor Frank, Houston, TX; one brother-in-law Carlton (Sally) Pitts, Oshkosh; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice, one son, Lester H. Hasse Jr.; one daughter, Eleanore Safford; two brothers, Albert and Alfred Hasse; four sisters, Linda Jones; Laura Miller; Ella Willsie, Edna Hasse.Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 9, 2007 at Zion Lutheran Church( 400 N. Sawyer St.) at 1:00 PM with Rev. Jeff Knoll officiating. Family ands friends may call at Zion Lutheran Church on Monday from 10:00 AM to the time of service. Interment will be at Lake View Memorial Park.
