Lewis Gordon Carroll

Lewis G. Carroll age 89, of Oshkosh died at Evergreen on Wednesday, August 31, 2011. He was born in Holton, Maine on January 17, 1922, a son of the late Gordon and Marie McCarthy Carroll. Lewis married Florence Leverenz on June 17, 1950 in Milwaukee.Lewis served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII. While serving in Italy, he was wounded and received the Purple Heart. Lewis worked for Badger Heating and Sheet Metal in Milwaukee. After retiring Lewis and Florence moved to Eau Claire for several years before relocating to Oshkosh about ten years ago. Lewis enjoyed morning coffee with Florence and friends at Hardees and McDonalds.Survivors include his wife Florence, Oshkosh; one son, Dr. Jeffrey (Jaye) Carroll, Wautoma; one brother, John Carroll, Milwaukee; three grandchildren, Dana Carroll, Ashwaubenon; Katie Carroll, Wautoma; Ryan Carroll, Minneapolis, MN and one great grandchild, Austin Laws, Ashwaubenon. He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, JoAnne Carroll, one brother, Patrick and one sister, Theresa.Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 3, 2011 at 11: 00 AM at the Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-Westside with Chaplain Vicki Marxen officiating. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 AM to the time of service. Entombment will be at Wisconsin Memorial Park. A memorial has been established to Aurora Visiting Nurses Association.
